Preparing SC Pediatric Offices for Measles
BASIC PROTOCOL FOR PEDIATRIC OFFICES

1. Identify an isolation space for suspected patients
2. Review measles presentation with staff and develop protocol for triage
3. Post regional Epi-on-call phone number for easy access
4. Call regional Epi-on-call while patient is still in the office for testing instructions and information about other possible exposures. (Please call them BEFORE you test to make sure testing is done properly, follow up is arranged, and all goes smoothly!)
