2024 SCAAP Annual Meeting Education and Accreditation

OVERVIEW:

The 2024 SCAAP Annual Meeting aims to equip pediatricians and other pediatric healthcare professionals with the latest information on health topics impacting children and adolescents in South Carolina. Key areas of focus will include heat-related illness, gastroesophageal reflux, ankyloglossia, sports injuries, asthma, and hyperbilirubinemia. Participants will gain strategies for reducing stress, review national and state-level updates, share success stories, engage in discussions, and identify barriers to change. Through a blend of lectures, case presentations, and interactive discussions, attendees will enhance their ability to improve care for their patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Program and create a forum for discussion.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:
• Access, support, and lead community-based initiatives that increase children’s access to optimal health or well-being.
• Implement new strategies and apply new information to reduce or eliminate current issues presented in practice.
• Recognize the importance and benefits of collaboration among medical professions and the community to advance the health of all children.
• Implement new strategies and apply new information to reduce or eliminate current issues presented in practice.
• Identify effective clinical strategies for diagnosing and managing a wide array of challenging issues  in practice.
• Describe the implications for evaluation and management of patients from information provided during in-depth reviews of the topics of subjects.

Continuing Education Certificates will be awarded based on the participant attending the activity, completing this evaluation, and calculation of sessions attended.

CLAIMING MOC INSTRUCTIONS

In order to claim MOC attendees must:
  • Successfully complete the 2024 SCAAP Annual Meeting evaluation.
  • In the evaluation, provide permission to share completion data with the ACCME and the ABP.
  • Ensure the ABP Diplomate Number, SC Medical License Number, and Date of Birth in MM/DD format is entered correctly in the evaluation.
